.New Calling

Welp, I can tell you now

While we were in Utah, Brother Martin from the Stake was trying to get a hold of me.

He had a calling to extend...

I was scared (to say the least) when I considered what it might be.
I even cried.
I cry a lot though, so that's nothing special.
I felt extremely inadequate. Still do.
I somehow knew what it would be and prepared myself for the question.

It ended up being exactly what I feared.
I accepted.
I'm going to be an early morning seminary teacher this year!
Starting August 3rd at 6:30am.
So now I embark on this incredibly STEEP learning curve.
With very little time for anything but studying and working.

At least I can prepare my lessons with Air who is teaching the older class again!
He is insanely excited about that fact.
I'm really grateful for his enthusiasm and motivation.
Personally I feel a little numb...
I'm just going to take this one day at a time.
How did the Stake leaders know that this calling
was the very thing that I needed to grow?
They are so inspired...

Wish me luck? ...or even better, Pray for me??

.There and Back (part 3)

And then came the big
wedding day for my best friend Nichole and her man Joel

Salt Lake Temple, August 20 2009
isn't she beautimous??

I know, I look Chinese in this one

the luncheon

and the reception

I made the scrapbook pages for people to sign

...and here we are decorating the car
While we were out there Joel suddenly appeared because he needed to get some things out of his trunk!
Pretty much ruined the surprise... So we took a picture of him.

The next day we stopped by some more Parade of Homes houses. Loved it!

On our last day in Utah we wanted to do one more fun thing; so we went hiking through Timpanogos Caves with my friend Niki and some of her family. So cool.
Niki's baby wouldn't let anyone carry him but her... poor Niki!
I thought this looked like the 'heart' of the cave, it was huge!

And then we left Utah...

When we got back home to Canada we were really excited because Air's parents had moved closer to us! We got to see their beautiful new home, and I know we'll be spending a lot more time with them now!
It's so nice to have family nearby.

.There and Back (part 2)

Here's the next set
of our Utah Adventures, for those still interested!

Starting with our visit to Discovery Gateway with my family.

My nieces and nephews are so stinkin' CUTE!

Another first for Air was our dinner at The Mayan with my sister Elisa. I love that place.

And we got to go to my nephew Jared's baptism! GO JARED!
My Grandpa Ellis is the best

During our second week there we went to the Parade of Homes... Always been one of my most favorite things to do! So many design ideas!

It is so much fun being a tourist in my own home town... you should try it sometime!

....more to come....

.There and Back (part 1)

We were down in Utah for the last couple of weeks.

It was really great to go back home..... and this trip we made sure that we saw almost every single one of our family members and friends! It was perfect.
The main thing that I wanted to accomplish in Utah was taking Air to all of the places he's never been before. So, it was a "firsts trip" for him.
We did so much during this trip that I'm gonna have to post about it in segments! :)

For our first week there we got to spend a lot of time with my parents who were on their summer vacation too. We spent a day at This Is The Place Heritage Park. It was a lot of fun!
He looks pretty American doesn't he?
ponytails

We got our favorite sushi in Provo

And bubble tea, of course

Went to a drive-in movie with our buds. This was a first for Air!
During the movie we saw about 20 shooting stars and watched a lightning storm in the sky to the East... life is good.

... And we had some fun at family parties

And thus ends our first week in Utah. Aren't we lucky?

....more to come....
