.The Weddage of Cabbage & Names

Cabbage (aka: Jordan Caddy) is Air's friend from growing up. His wedding was this weekend and Air got to be a groomsman.

We also took their engagement photos and made their wedding invitations (see above) a few months ago. We had fun with that.

They were married in the Edmonton temple. (Do you recognize the flowers I helped plant?)

The groomsmen got to wear these sweet fedora’s

They looked like old fashioned gangsters, it was amazing:

These guys are hilarious…

My father-in-law officiated the ring exchange and Air was the MC:

The cake was incredible and the flower arrangements were GORGEOUS!

So, I don’t really know how to say this. I’m not the jealous type and I understand wedding traditions—but it felt a little funny for us groomsmen’s wives to not eat dinner next to our hubs, and then watching them with other girls (bridesmaids) walking down the aisle, posing for pictures and dancing. haha! Anything for a tradition I guess.

All in all, it was one of the most beautiful and perfect weddings I’ve ever been to! Jordan and Alexis are some of the best people I know, and we’re so glad they’re married now! Congrats to the Caddy’s!

I love weddings!

On a completely different note: Did you know that my name has meaning if you listen to it as words?

Amber Leary Gusa

An amber colored goose that's leery? That’s me!

I've illustrated this below:

Lucky me, right?

I am just a little jealous of Cabbage's wife's new name though.

Alexis Beamer Caddy

No. Stinking. Way.

I've illustrated this below:

Much cooler than mine somehow ;)

.Honk Shoooo

Maybe you've been wondering how I've been liking my job so far? Well, I'll tell you! Working has been really…....... worky? haha But I do like my job a lot!

I like working with my hands and getting to be creative and artistic helping people pick out frames and mat's to go with their art. Time goes by so fast when that's all I'm doing!

But there are still some parts of the job that I don't like so much, so I endure and do my best because that's just how life goes.

Oh, and don't even get me started on how many things I want to buy at Michaels while I'm there every day. It's completely ludicrous! I've been holding myself back a lot, but I have bought one--ok, two things. Christmas ornaments. But, don't get me wrong, I am NOT ready for Christmas yet!

I'm getting used to the new schedule and being a lot more busy. We'll see how this feels once combined with early morning seminary in a few short days!

YIKES!!

Don't be jealous. Really.

.a summer memory

Today I'm remembering a moment from when Nichole and Joel were here visiting us last month. We had a fun evening playing with caterpillars in my garden.

They were the cutest/fuzziest little guys!

And then we found a slug and …………..tortured it. What? I’m pretty sure it deserved it.

I wish we could have fun nights doing nothing in particular with Nichole and Joel all the time.

Come back you guys!

By the way, you may have noticed that my raspberry bushes are mostly infested with caterpillars and other bugs this year. Not good.

I need a plan of attack for next year. Any suggestions?

.Three Red Rings of Death

This is an Xbox. Normally the round ring is green, but last week ours did this. Do you happen to know what this means? I’ve learned since I’ve been married to Air that this is a universal Xbox sign. It means it’s dead.

My Air-bear likes his Xbox very much. He doesn't always have time to play, but I know he loves it because he turns it on any time he is tired and wants to relax. He was sad when it died, but he wasn’t interested in having it repaired or anything.

You see, this summer those lovely people at Microsoft decided to release a new version of the Xbox console that we already had. Air was attracted to the new *Xbox 360 Slim* like you wouldn't believe! He wanted to have it!

We made a deal that he wouldn't buy one while his current one was still in such perfect condition. What's the use of replacing something that's working so well? Right?

I confidently promised him, "We can buy one of those when ours breaks (in ten years, pshhh)." And he agreed.

I didn't think it would break. Ever.

And so you see, it broke. And of course Air remembered my promise and got the new *Xbox 360 Slim* the next day.
I can’t help but be glad that we got it when I see how happy this cute guy is…

And it is a pretty addition to our family, huh? We sure like our gadgets!

.Anniversary the 2nd

My dreamy husband and I had our second Anniversary on a Sunday... you know? August 8th... 8/8/08? Easy peasy to remember—just how I like it!

It happened to land on the day we were flying back to Canada. Which was fun!

But also pretty tiring by the second flight we caught in Minneapolis…

It also happened to be the day Air's littlest sister Tiana was getting baptized and his whole family was in town. We basically went straight from the airport to the baptism and didn’t get home home until really late that night. Which was also fun!

Tiana had the best day out of all of us I think! Air gave a talk and I sang (but mostly cried) with his sisters.

I'd say it was a pretty good great awesome day!

And now, a very personal/public letter to my hub:

Dear Aaron,

Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and friend. Thank you for sitting next to me (even as I write this) and letting me cuddle you to death all the time. Thank you for bringing your work kids home every day so that we can be together more. I'm really glad I married you because "you're so funny" (as Allison would say); but also because you're such a caring, giving, intelligent, spiritual and sensitive man. I never thought I'd end up so lucky! And so in love!

They say this all the time, but I know exactly what it means, because I really do love you more every day.

love me

.Noise in Illinois (part III)

my niece/sister Alexis and I in Libertyville, IL

Day four in Chicago was my parent's last day. They had to hit the road back to Utah the next morning. Bitter sweet—but I was so glad that I got to stay an extra day since we were flying home!

We started the day early at the farmers market and then we went shopping! {Mostly just for some work clothes for me since I was starting my new job the day after we got back to Canada!}

And then we went swimming in Megan’s pool:

We all went out for dinner at Uno Pizzeria for the original Chicago Deep Dish!

And then we went over to Independence Grove to play and watch the beautiful sunset!20100806 Dad's cam (22) edit20100806 Dad's cam (39) edit 20100806 Dad's cam (50) edit20100806 Dad's cam (64) edit

Elisa and Megan. Can you believe these are my sisters? Where did I come from!

The sun went down and the mosquitoes came out in full force! We booked it home—but not before we finally got to see some fireflies!! I was soooo glad!

--------------------------------------

The next day was our last day in Illinois. We woke up early and ate breakfast at Wildberry with my sister’s family and then we went swimming again!

We wanted to spend as much time with my Lexy as we possibly could so we took her down to the cute little town of Libertyville to see the shops. They were having a huge arts festival!

We stopped for dessert at the Lovin Oven Cakery…

YUM!!

Next up! Did you know that Air and I had our 2 year?

Don’t worry, we hardly noticed either! ;)
