.what we do

Q: What do Ambs and Air do during the week?

A: Air and I live in the basement of a group home for autistic kids. Doesn't everybody?

I'll explain: Air works for a company called Entrust Corp that his cousin Kevin owns, where he works with kids that have mental and cognitive disabilities. He's been working in tons of group homes all around our city.
It can be a pretty dangerous and stressful job sometimes, but I think that he enjoys it mostly; plus+ he needs the experience for his future profession as a psychologist.
All of the kids love Air the most out of all of their workers. They remind him of that often!
He is just amazing with them.

I also help out everyday at our group home and do laundry for the kids that live upstairs. I might be getting a full time job working with them once I get my residency too. We'll see.

I'm actually not sure if I'm allowed to post pictures of these kids, but...... you know me, I really can't help myself! We're with them everyday and I just *have to* share some of these guys with you! I wish we had pictures of all of the kids, but we don't.

They are so sweet.

Boy do we have a ton of funny stories about all of these kids!
Life is never dull around here, that's for darn! :)

.Girly Camp

As you may know, I was the Young Women's camp director for the stake camp this summer. Camp was last week and it was absolutely incredible! Everything went more perfectly and smoothly than I could have imagined it would.
I was extremely pleased

{There are a lot of pictures here so be prepared}

Here are the girls spelling "Clareview" with their bodies

before we left with a few other wards

Air came as a priesthood representative. He had tons of fun having gospel discussions with everyone; and his seminary students were all there! Boy do those kids love him!
this is our makeshift awning

But most especially he spent his time playing with his cousin Kevin, who is also our Bishop. They are like twins.
they rode bikes, talked, and played a lot of bocce ball

we did crafts (hemp jewelry)
Kevin made a 'tacky necklace' out of a thumb tack...
boy is my husband manly or what!

played games

we did skits
this is part of our introduction skit/slap dance:

This is a skit that I wrote about the "Daugter of a King" ...we had so much fun acting it out!
Almost as much fun as I had making it up

we went rappelling

hiking

top of the hike~ Siffleur Falls

zip line
yes, I look hilarious here

canoeingWow, that was the most beautiful lake! I {love} loons.

We were all worried about bears disturbing our campground all week, and heard lots of stories; but we didn't personally see a single one! ...Until we were on our way home.
I'm more than happy to only see them that way!

When we got home I was in the shower before you could say "Bob's your uncle"
...and Bob is my uncle! He's also my Grandpa... but that's a whole other story ;)

.show's over!

The results are in from my favorite show
The Bachelorette

Jillian picked Ed!!
She definitely didn't disappoint me since he was my pick for her from the beginning!
Man, I should be a matchmaker or something... I never miss with these things!

Now we'll just wait and see if they actually stay together this time. A pretty rare occurrence with this show.

.good reads

About to finish The Kingdom and The Crown
book series by Gerald N. Lund
They are really great books and I highly
recommend them all.
My favorite thing about them is how real they
make the scripture stories of Christ's life feel.
It's really like I was there.
But, let's be honest now. The real best thing
about these books that kept my attention
was definitely the love story.
It's always all about the love story for me.

Brilliant!!

For those of you in the book club: I know, I know! I have taken forever to read these books! We started reading them together last December (I think) and I'm just now getting through them... It's pretty pathetic how little I read lately!

.Introducing...

The Sweater House!!

Photobucket
We've been driving past this little house on our way to church ever since we moved here.
I call it the sweater house because it's basically made out of one of those ugly old sweaters from the 70's. It makes me laugh every time.

We had Air's sister Tessa staying with us this week. Lots of fun!
tessa

It would have been even more fun if it hadn't been raining all week...
We went to Ice Age 3, got screamers, shopped, jumped on the trampoline

sad that our legs are lost...
there's a troll living under the tramp
tessa amber

We watched one of our favorite movies. Hot Rod. Highly recommended! I love that Andy Samberg.

amb tes
I guess we're pretty cool.

and we ate at Red Robin
I love it when people think you're taking a picture, but it's a video... haha

We celebrated a little since Air's parent's finally made an offer on a house up here!

I don't think he's cutting the watermelon

UPDATE: The offer was accepted! They'll probably be moving up here at the end of July!!
We can't wait!!
