.weekend of crazy

*cards from Nichole and Joel, Air’s family, the RS, and my parents

As you already know, my birthday was on Friday.

We had a pretty uneventful day until Air got home from work and walked in the door with Tam and Josh all singing and surprised me with a DQ ice cream cake! We ate pizza, played volleyball, threw confetti, ate cake, and watched a movie. I’d share the awesome photos from that day, but somehow they all got deleted from the camera the next day… sad.

Here’s a picture of my second surprise birthday cake from my seminary student Shania!:

On Saturday we went out to lunch with Air’s family. Tara wanted to show us a new place where she likes to eat. We were pretty surprised when we pulled up to this place:
Those faces say it all, don't they?

Located in the sketchiest part of town; it’s called the “Motoraunt” because it’s basically made out of a giant bus and a bunch of cardboard boxes. haha

But, HOLY COW! It was sooo awesome! We will definitely be revisiting this place.

After Lunch we went down to the Muttart Conservatory pyramids.

We took a million pictures of the awesome plants. It was so cool to go somewhere that feels like summer again…

I told you we took a lot of pics! Not gonna lie... this isn’t even half.

That's how old I am now

{go ahead and ignore the cake in the photo, I'm not one anymore}

{but for your own good don't ignore that little chunky monkey sitting on the horse behind the cake!}

.Confession...

*another image by Air from our long-distance dating era

I promised myself I wouldn't talk about this here.

But I also always "promise myself I wouldn't cry"... and I never seem to follow through with that one either.

I guess I'm a pretty private person {believe it or not}. It's always been difficult for me to talk about things I deem 'personal' to people I don't know well... so you can imagine how it is writing personal things on here, where I have no idea who's even reading.

But right now... I want to get this off my chest... and I guess this is the place to do that.

So here it is. My very personal confession:

I want a baby

Gah! That was hard!

I know it's nothing surprising to anyone. Nor am I the first to proclaim these words. But for as long as I can remember I've been excited to be a mommy. I've always loved to imagine what my kids might be like or look like.

Being a nanny, I figured out that I was sort of good at being a mom. It's definitely my calling in life. I enjoyed every minute of it. I miss it!

Once I married Air, I knew that my kids were GUARANTEED to be at least half amazing--and that only makes me even more excited to meet them!

I guess you could say that Air and I are child enthusiasts.

We love kids!

We want to start having our own before we get too old to have very many.

We want lots!

And I really hate to admit it, but sometimes when I think of all my friends who are pregnant and having babies all over the place {although I'm incredibly happy for them}, I feel a little sad.... for myself....

I'm such a baby

But alas, we must wait.

And we'll keep on waiting pretty impatiently until the time comes when we are blessed with a kid to join us.

'sides, I don't think that babies should be having babies anyway

Am I right or am I right?

right.

Thanks for listening.

.year old blog

Oh my ganache!

My blog is one year old today

I remember deciding that I would never start a blog of any sort. Ever.

There was even a time when I would make fun of bloggers...
{no offense, I was obviously mistaken}

....aaaaand then I started this very blog about a week later.

Funny how our minds can change at the drop of a hat
{or anything else that you could drop}

I don't really know what changed my mind;
{its probably just an excuse to improve my photoshop skills?}

but I'm glad I kept it open enough to change--it's been real fun so far!

Real fun

.V Day II

We had a wonderful weekend.
Went on a date Saturday night and brought home this cute little cake to eat while we watched The Lake House:

At church I got lots of loot too--thanks to my visiting teachers and RS Presidency! They are so sweet!

Church was followed by dinner at Air’s parent’s house… where we received even more loot!
They made heart-shaped ham:

sure hope you had a lovely love day too!
