After our day in Glacier we ended up in Calgary at our friends Russ and Amy's home for a night. We love those guys! Mostly because they go on walks with us and let us sleep on their futon. And a futon in a basement is a million times better than a car in a parking lot. With wrapping paper in the windows. And no shower.
The next morning was our Anniversary!
We drove around Calgary looking for something cool to do... is there anything cool to do in Calgary other than Peters Drive-in? We honestly couldn't think of anything else.
So we headed northeast to Air's grandma's house in Trochu, since Air's sisters Tessa and Tiana were staying there for the week. I'd never been there before, so I thought this was a good day to finally go!
Air’s Grandma has a BEAUTIFUL garden. I was excited to meet it for the first time! (the girls aren’t wearing pants because they were going swimming. thought I should mention)
Outdoor pools are kinda rare up here. Sadly. But there's one by their grandma's house! so went and watched the girls swim.
You have no idea how badly I was aching to jump in and swim with them… Even looking at these pictures makes me want to go back!
We left the pool and drove northward again. To Red Deer.
Destination: Dinner at the Ranch House.
Next Destination: Dessert from The Donut Mill
Our Final Destination of the Day: Home; where we would attempt to eat these donuts and fail miserably. I ended up throwing out that yummy peanut covered one about two days later. I just couldn’t do it.
So there you have it! We’re back home now, and have been for over 2 weeks!! haha
ps. I actually have one more post about our trip. Parade of Homes. Lots of decorating ideas!
