We arrived at my brother’s house in Logan just in time for dinner on a Friday night. My sister-in-law, Jo was kind enough to cook us some awesome steak kabobs. Shortly after that, we were all aching for some dessert!
Jordan and Jo are so much fun, they wanted to go with us to the Bluebird soda fountain and ice cream parlor!
These are their cute kiddos. Gabe and Lucy.
They both ordered cake. Gabe’s was bigger than his little tummy, but he dived in head first.
Air ordered a caramel cashew milkshake and I got a teddy bear sundae. It looked (a little) like a teddy bear?
We took some drive-by photos of the beautiful Logan Temple…
I love love love Logan and I don’t blame Jord and Jo for living there. Not one bit.

You know what happened the next day?
We left that Beehive State and headed for Montana. Glacier National Park to be specific.
We passed this awesome billboard near Butte (you might want to click this to read it):
We stopped and shopped a few times during the day, and got to a little town called Kalispell right outside of Glacier around bed time.
Silly us. We didn't book a hotel room for the night since we USUALLY have no problem finding a hotel with vacancy’s. NORMALLY we get to a town, and drive up to the first hotel we see and stay for a night. And we ALWAYS get really sweet rooms for an awesome deal.
Can you tell, by my CAPITAL letters that this isn’t what happened on this trip?
Did you guess that we drove into Kalispell and called EVERY HOTEL WITHIN A 60 MILE RADIUS to find that they were ALL BOOKED UP TO THE ROOF??? Why didn’t we think of this before!? Of course everyone would be staying by Glacier in the middle of the summer!!
(OKAY… I should mention that Air actually did think of this before we left, and wanted to book a room. I was the silly wife who said that it wasn’t necessary. I’ll take the blame on this.)
Anyway, it was hopeless. We were homeless. Our only option was to stay in our car. In an overcrowded-by-motorhomes Wal-Mart parking lot (or the “Black Lake” as Air’s family calls it).
It wasn’t so bad once we taped black wrapping paper to all the windows to keep out the bright street lights… It felt kinda like camping! Only less comfortable.

Oh! You're just like Grandma and Grandpa! They have slept in their care soo many times! Or course it was a station wagon with a pad in the back, but same idea!
I like your blog post! I LOVE the Bluebird cafe in Logan. I always want to go there when we visit Joel's brother and wife up there. P.s. I love how Air made you tape the car while he video tapped you ;)
