.Some of my favorite people are kids

What is it about kids that I love so much? Maybe it's the way you can look at any kid and make any old funny face in the world and they'll just smile and like you more for it. Try doing that to some adults... They'll think you're a real creeper! Making friends with kids is so simple... Making good friends with adults is way too hard! Maybe that's why most of my best friendships now started when I was a kid.
blog neicephews

.....my 22 neecees and neepoos are the cutest!! I'm sure that the one on the way will be awesome too.
So are Air's little sisters!! (btw, it is SO awesome to finally have younger siblings! I love it!!)
Tiana is such a cutie-pie!

In other news:
1. last Sunday I was assigned as the Young Women's Camp director. I am way excited to go to camp, but not very excited to be in charge of it..... I remember thinking my camp directors were way too stressed out and BOSSY!! We just wanted it to be free time, all the time! haha --hopefully I can make it a little better for these girls and still make camp a good spiritually uplifting experience. Rededicating ourselves to the gospel and strengthening our testimonies is way more important than painting a piece of wood shaped like a _____(fill in the blank).

2. we are extremely excited to have Air's parents moving up here to Edmonton this summer!! It will be so nice to have family living nearby! GAH I CAN'T WAIT!!

3. we are pretty much going to cancel our trip to Utah in June... It would be too hard to get work off in June and then again for our trip in August. I guess that means we won't be able see my sister Gwen's future newborn until August, or go to the cabin this year. Sad.

.My Moon My Man

Today is our 9 month and I have to say that being married to Air has been so much more than wonderful. I love that guy so much. The longer I'm with him the more I am in awe of him and his amazing spirit. How did I get so lucky to marry such a kind, caring, intelligent, handsome, hilarious man!??
--The other day we were at lunch with my friend Robyn and she suddenly interrupted me and said something like, "Wow Amber, you think REALLY highly of Aaron.". That made me laugh at myself because I realized that I am always telling people how amazing he is! Golly, I hope that doesn't get annoying to anyone who talks to me... Anyway, I'm sorry Air, but it's true! You are a wonderful man and I can't hold it in! :)

You tell me who else would be willing to teach seminary at 6:30am, go to school at 8am, go to work with autistic kids at 2pm and not get home again until 10pm every day, completely exhausted! ...and then spend time with his wife who has been at home doing practically

nobody else.

(if anyone is thinking, 'Wow, Ambs! Maybe you should get a job or something instead of hanging out alone at home all day' --believe me, I would if I could ;))

my moon my man

Anyway, we've been through some rough times together already as we try to take on more and more adult responsibilities; but there's nobody I would rather be spending my life with than him. There's nobody who could be more perfect for me through all of the trials that life throws at us. There's nobody who could be more patient and understanding when my imperfections and weaknesses get the best of me. He teaches me, he learns with me and he needs me. I need him too. There's a reason I call him Air, I'm pretty sure I couldn't even breathe without him.

(who doesn't like a little public love letter now and then? ...haha)

Hunny, who's making the smoothies tonight!!??

.much needed vacation

As soon as Air got a root canal and finished his finals a few weeks ago we packed up our bags and headed South of the border, desperate to see something green and spring-like! We were pleasantly surprised by the nice weather they were having in Utah! These are some pics we took at the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. I absolutely love that place!!!

We just happened to be in Utah during some pretty big events in my friend's lives too:
Nichole and Joel got engaged on our first day there! Soon they'll officially be known as NiJoel. :)
(Air took this pic of them)
My friend Robyn from Chicago got back from Afganistan and I finally got to see her again!
Ali got home from her mission in Hawaii and we went to her homecoming talk!
And Niki came in town from Wyoming for that too - so we were all together again! :)
(Of course I forgot to take pictures.... DOH!)
(we took this in 2006 when they all visited me in Chicago)

We also went to the new Draper temple. It is BEAUTIFUL!!
Photobucket
(yes Air and Joel were holding hands... haha)

Spent lots of time talking/hanging with my sister Elisa and celebrated her birthday at the Cheesecake Factory! Mmmmm... their brown bread makes me melt!
(can you believe she painted this beauty all by herself!? heh)
Of course, we made it to a few family parties too! Lots of fun - I love my fam!
the annual Ellis family tug-o-war
here's Air getting mauled by the kids at my bro's house - they sure love him!
And we played with our awesome friends.... .................a lot!!
(again, who's holding who's hand here....?)

Anyway, the trip was awesome, but getting home was definitely nice. Now we're back, working away and trying to get our two broken computers fixed!

ps. Happy Birthday to my MOM today!! Love you so so much!

.Easter in Crossfield

This Easter weekend was a blast! We went down to Air's parents in Crossfield and went to the zoo on Saturday with the whole family!

Photobucket

(Gusa's with the geese)

We all take coloring eggs very seriously...

(Chuck Norris doing some plumbing)

On Easter we had church at 8 AM!!! Then we hung out on the deck and played a fun game that Air's Dad found. We had an amazing turkey dinner and then we went to the park while the Easter bunny came and set up an egg hunt for us. TONS of candy, TONS of family, TONS of fun!
(lemon-head!! Sadly, this is the only pic we took on Sunday...)

Of course through all of the fun we remember the true meaning behind Easter. I can't describe how grateful I am for what Christ suffered for us. He walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone so we don't have to. I will never forget that. We really loved Conference last weekend!!! My absolute favorite thing from it was when President Monson said:
Isn't that so true.... If we have faith then our lives will be bright and full no matter what is happening to the economy or in the world around us. I feel very blessed to know that.

.look-a-like

I've been watching this show Look-A-Like lately. It's pretty funny! As long as I've known Air he's been trying to convince me that I look like Mandy Moore... I was inclined to disagree until he pulled this picture up and put me juxtaposition with it. And now I have to admit that if there is one angle, on one picture, of one actress that looks remotely like me... it's this one:

And since I'm admitting to things I thought it only fair that Air also gets exposed:

As Kevin Bacon. hahaha - This is a pretty old picture. Crazy tho, huh?
