Ames was a pro at Halloween this year. Seriously. A genuine Halloween expert, this kid. Air and I were so proud of him telling everyone that he was going to be batman and wear a mask and go “knock knock trick or treat! and get candy”. Funny thing was, he kept refusing to try on the mask when we wanted to see it on him before Halloween. He hated wearing it—but as soon as the day came and we put on his costume he had no problem wearing that mask for the entire night… he didn’t want to take it off when the night was over!
I don’t know where it came from, but Ames has an obsession with super heroes. Each day he begs to wear either his spider man shirt, his super man jammies, his batman jammies, or his batman shirt. We went to the park on a very cold day this weekend and he refused to wear his coat because he couldn’t see his spider man shirt and he wanted to “be spider man!”. He ran around the park pretending to climb and fall and fly and fight bad guys. I finally convinced him to put his coat back on when he realized he was cold. Such a boy.
Alice must have forgotten it was Halloween because she was not prepared with a costume. She improvised and decided to be a ‘famous ballerina’… Good enough for me. She really pulled it off and looked stunning.

Ames was really lucky this year he got to go trick or treating with 6 adults! Thanks so much Mom, Tessa, Tara, Tom and Tam for coming and helping us out. Wish I could’ve gone too.
