When we left to Utah this summer, we didn't really have a plan for when we would be traveling back to Canada… we ended up extending our trip a few times while we were waiting to hear from our insurance company to find out if/when Air would have to go back to work. We were there for a total of 5 weeks! It was wonderful!
I am soooo glad we ended up being in Utah on our 8th Anniversary. Being our "Golden Anniversary" (we were married on 8/8/08) it felt special… so we drove up to the place where we were married. The Bountiful Temple.
We were worried when we got there because the temple was closed that day! But after driving around and being pretty sneaky, we got onto the grounds (thanks to some grounds keepers) and were able to take some photos without anyone else around. It was so peaceful and it happened to be the most beautiful day.
After visiting the temple and having lunch at Cafe Rio in Bountiful we…headed all the way down south to Provo!
We did some shopping, checked out the gorgeous new Provo Temple, and had dinner at our most FAVORITE sushi place in the world: Sushi Ya.
At the end of the night we brought home a new toy for Ames to try out. He loves these 3D VR glasses, but not as much as Air does!
The remainder of our trip included: More fun times and friends at Grandma's house.
A fun visit to my sister Heather's house, where Alice was very intrigued by the dogs.
We had so much fun at a new splash park with my besties Nichole and Niki.
We went camping with some of our Ellis family at East Canyon Resort! Also we got Nichole and Joel to come along.
Ok, so camping doesn't usually involve swimming pools, playgrounds, and mini golf…but that's the way I like it!
The wonderful thing about my parents is the fact that they have been living in the same house for my entire life. There's nothing better than seeing my children run around in the same yard that I used to run around in.
Alice loves Grandpa Leary
We visited my Aunt Nancy's house for a super fun time with lots of cousins. We also got to meet their Canadian friends who were visiting coincidentally. Also from Edmonton!
My Brother Keegan stopped by one night and happened to be hauling one of his work toys for us to try out.
One last swimming trip at Suncrest with Heather and kids…this pool was awesome.
Air helped my Dad lift this sinking cement at the bottom of their porch on the morning before we left.

After:
Saying goodbye to my Mom, Dad, and Elisa.
Then we hit the road.
We often stop at this beautiful overlook point in Montana.
Then we got a speeding ticket for the first time ever, stopped at my cousin Amanda's adorable new house in Helena, slept in a hotel, and drove on through the border before we stopped at the Alberta Information Center for one last break before home.
Vacation over.
