.All of it, from December thru January

20151113 camera testing (136)

I just……. I just have a whole bucket load of photos and stories to post on this blog and I wanna get them all on here without too much time or effort. Ha! It’s crazy, but I am seriously posting all of the photos I have from December last year through January in one post. And I will do more similar posts in the days to come. Contrary to popular belief, I haven’t given up on this blog yet!

I have to admit, these packed posts will really be a perfect representation of our year so far, because so far 2016 has been just as quick and crazy and stressful and terrible and full of love and cute little people as these posts will be.

Enjoy?

↓↓↓Ames started PRIMARY this year. He is the cutest little sunbeam I have ever known. He has so many little friends in his class, he loves it//I “nailed it” with this recipe I saw online. Apparently when you set the oven to convect instead of bake, it can cause problems↓↓↓

↓↓↓At the beginning of 2016 I made one wishful resolution: That Ames would finally become interested in using the potty and get potty trained. Amazingly this boy was all trained up before January was even over! In this photo he drew a picture of me… with a head, hair, legs and a heart. Only the important stuff//A rare moment in this house when one of our kids falls asleep anywhere other than their own bed↓↓↓

One of Ames’s favorite activities in our house is jumping off the pony wall in our extra bedroom downstairs. He even does some really sweet somersault jumps onto the bed↓↓↓

We were so lucky the ice castle was here in Edmonton this winter. We had so much fun exploring this place with the family just days before is started melting away↓↓↓

.In which I blog about Christmas …in March

20151205 Christmas pics (11) EDIT20151205 Christmas pics (77) edit

Remember Christmas? We had one. We had a really lovely one, in fact. We decorated every inch of our house and put up our tree at the beginning of November. We enjoy dragging out the season in our home, I think we all can use some extra Christmas joy during the long cold winter. Each year we find one new ornament for our tree. This year was a little fox to add to our forest theme.

We also had to replace all of our breakable glass balls with these vintage threaded ones, because Alice

Air's Mom made us this amazing advent calendar with a gift for each day. It was so much fun.

We took the kids to see Santa at our ward Christmas party, like every year. Alice was not a fan! haha I live for these photos. Ames was so excited to talk to Santa. He told him that he wanted a moving dinosaur and a guitar for Christmas.

We went with the whole family to see the lights at Candy Cane Lane. But first we had dinner at Olive Garden. We were all so excited to have Tessa home from Hawaii for the week.

Ames was over-the-moon excited on Christmas Eve. He loved staying over night at Grandma's house, although he did tell us about his concerns that Santa wouldn’t find him there. haha

On Christmas morning Ames was sleeping in for so long we were confused… So finally around 9am Air went in to his room and Ames says, “Dad is that you? I can’t open my eyes”. Air laughed but then he turned on the light and saw that Ames's eyes were actually sealed shut with more eye goobers than he had ever seen! Poor little guy got pink eye on Christmas morning! I cleaned his eyes up and brought him down for the party and the rest of the day was great.

Here's our family's pile of gifts:

Ames got a moving dinosaur, a guitar, play dough, airplanes, etc.
Alice got some dolls, a dollhouse, toy bottles, a bus, a blankie, etc.
Air and I got another flash for our camera, a blender, a dust buster, a quilt, and a throw blanket.

Wow did we all get spoiled! Thanks Santa!

And thank you to Air's family for celebrating Christmas with us! It makes it so much more special to spend those days with family, playing games and talking. We love all the dance parties and all the amazing meals. Can't wait for next Christmas!
