Hey internet. So we went to the Zoo on Canada Day with Air’s family, and although it may not seem like much to anyone but me, this was huge and a total dream come true to have Air out of the house with us for the first time in SIX WEEKS. Possibly the longest weeks of my life?
Anyway, this was our first time at the Edmonton Valley Zoo and we were pretty impressed. It was simply the best day we’ve had in way too many days. We were all just so happy to be there—it was a blast.
We rented a wheelchair for Air since he really can’t walk or stand much these days (sitting isn't great for him either haha). Everyone was so awesome to take turns pushing him around the park all day… ↓↓↓
The babies weren’t too sure about these weird tall people ↓↓↓
We had a nice picnic by the paddle boat pond ↓↓↓
looking at lemurs ↓↓↓
petting zoo (I’m obsessed with goats lately haha) ↓↓↓
Alice being suave ↓↓↓
This was Ames and Alice’s first time on a carousel ↓↓↓
turtle ↓↓↓
dead animals ? ↓↓↓
taking a break ↓↓↓
llama ↓↓↓
playing in the dam ↓↓↓
it was the elephant’s birthday so we got to see her walking around the park ↓↓↓
this train ride was totally worth the long line ↓↓↓
we took some fun pictures in our Canada attire ↓↓↓
We went over to Air’s parent’s for a BBQ ↓↓↓
In Canada its illegal to do private fireworks at home… This is such a huge bummer for me since that was always my favorite thing about the 4th of July growing up. Soooo this year instead we shot some cans of beer (um yuck! (Air’s Dad found them abandoned somewhere)) with a bb gun. It was a lot like watching fountain fireworks when the beer would go shooting out all over the yard. Only way stinky haha ↓↓↓
Alice and Grandma were twinners ↓↓↓
we played with Tiana’s new long board from Tara and Tom in Hawaii ↓↓↓
Then when it finally got dark we went and watched the big city fireworks. Ames love love loved it ↓↓↓
