.Grandma and Grandpa in Canada

My parents came and spent a week with us right after Ames was born. It was so wonderful to have them here! We haven’t had the pleasure since our wedding reception 4 years ago.

This is only their 26th grandchild, but its the very first time they’ve EVER spent a whole week with one as a newborn! We’re so lucky we got to have them! It was so much fun!

My Mother is wonderful… She happily did the dishes and laundry every day, changed diapers, made lunches, and held Ames as much as she could!

My Dad mowed our neglected forest lawn and helped out with all kinds of renovating work.

My parents would never complain, but Air and I were kinda worried that they would go the whole week just working and helping us out at home—so we made sure to give them a fun tour of our city!

Um. We love Edmonton!

We made sure they tried a poutine and Tim Horton’s donuts. A true Canadian vacation.

This was Ames' first outing. He is so cute in his car seat....

And we got to visit the Gusa’s for dinner too! I’m pretty sure this cherry dessert my Mother-in-law made was the best. thing. ever.

.Anniversary the 4th

Since we’ve been married, Air and I have had some really fantastic Anniversaries, and they’ve all been extremely special to us.

This year trumped them all when our boy Ames was born the evening before our day. We spent our entire Anniversary this year in a really nice hotel hospital room as a more complete family of 3. In complete bliss.

Air’s family brought us some gifts to make it an even more special day! They are so kind!

And they came to meet and fall in love with Ames.

When we arrived home late that evening we found yet another surprise on our front lawn!

Our lives changed last Tuesday evening when our sweet little boy arrived.

Straight from heaven.

Ames (pronounced like James without the J) was born at 8:30pm on August 7th.

8lbs 2oz.

19.5 inches.

Plenty of dark hair.

Soft pink skin.

And the most lovely little cry you’ve ever heard.

I love Aaron, he loves me. We love Amesy, yes siree. Ames loves us and so you see—we are a happy family.

Here I am on my due date and not much has changed. Sadly.

Looks like baby might not be quite as ready to meet us as we are to meet him??

My Mother-in-law measured my waist this weekend. 44 inches around! And I’ve gained about 35lbs! Whew!

And here are my funny swollen feet. WHERE did my ankles go??

Anywho… we had lots of fun celebrating Tiana’s birthday with the family this weekend!

She is such a cute and mature little 10 year old. We sure love our Tiana!

.project two: pantry

Ok, so this is the before picture of where our eventual pantry would go.

Once we tore out the wall to the right, there wouldn’t be a pantry in the kitchen anymore, so we decided to make this huge hall (linen?) closet into a pantry:

This meant we had to make a new door. A pocket door!

Here, these photos show how it went!

And we have been loving it!! So nice to finally have somewhere to store our food. haha

We’ve finally finished another project!
