.V day VII

We are so lucky to have two of the most adorable little valentines I’ve ever seen. We had a good day and we tried to make it a little special since Ames is crazy about holidays right now. He takes after his Momma.

We made pink heart pancakes for breakfast

Ames and I decorated the house a few weeks ago with hearts and balloons. He’s been loving pointing out to everyone who’s heart is who’s.

We went down to visit the family for dinner and game night—plus we headed over to their ward’s Valentine’s Day dance. Ames was super nervous at first, but once I got him dancing it quickly became his favorite thing ever. He keeps asking me now if we can go to the “dancy dance” again.

 

While we were dancing Ames kept talking to me all along (this boy never stops talking) and I couldn’t really hear what he was saying, so finally I bent down to hear him and he was saying: “Mommy I’m your daughter!” as he was watching a little girl dancing with her Mom too… hahaha Ames seriously makes us laugh constantly.

Somehow, Alice fell asleep with all the noise? She loves her Daddy so much.

Then we went back to the family’s for some cake and games… I think Tessa picked this cake? haha

And now… as per my usual Valentines Day post tradition. Check out these adorable Valentines we got in the mail from my talented Momma!

Thank you Mom! We love you so much! Even Ames talks about you all the time… he's always telling me he wants to go to your house. haha He probably thinks he'll get more treats and surprises from you, but either way it's love.

.31 on the 31st

This handsome husband of mine finally had his golden birthday... I say finally because, if my calculations serve me correctly, this is the latest in life that anyone could possibly have a golden birthday--at the ripe old age of 31.

Right? Please tell me if I'm wrong here people.

We celebrated by going out to lunch/dinner at The Keg with most of the family (thanks to a giftcard we got from Air's Grandma a while ago. Thank you Grandma, it was delicious!)

Mom and Dad gave Aaron 'Chocolate Scrabble'. They must have heard that Air and I have been playing Scrabble a lot lately. And that we love chocolate. I can't wait to eat play this. (thanks again Mom and Dad!)

 

Air got a free slice of cake, and only after we had passed it around the table and each took a big bite did we realize that it was mocha flavored... as in, it has coffee in it?? hahaha Oops. But um, yum.

We headed over to the new chapel in Beaumont for some cake and badminton.

I made Air his usual favorite: angel food with lemon icing

Air has been so sick for so long. I can only imagine how it must feel for someone who has always been so obsessed with sports to have to go without for forever. His birthday party of choice was to just go to the church gym and play badminton and basketball for as long as his body would let him. 

He did pretty well, and slept for the following two days straight! haha

We all had soooo much fun. Grandpa brought his remote control helicopters to show Ames too. Awesome.

Us girls mostly hung out on the stage and played with the babies. So many cute babies around here...

I have a feeling we'll be doing this a lot more often now. Winter is dragging on these days.

Dear Aaron,

I just wanted to formally tell you how thankful I am to have you as my personal chef, baby daddy, therapist, teacher, entertainer, IT specialist, gospel expert, mechanic, home renovation contractor, massage therapist, patriarch, sounding board, babysitter, untangler of Ames's hair, artist, hair cutting guinea pig, reacher of tall shelves, opener of tight lids, killer of spiders, bringer of the bacon, my lovah, and my husband. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better man to have for the rest of eternity. I am so lucky. I love you forever. 88888888888888888888888888

And while I'm on the subject (if anyone's made it this far and still reading), I figure I should document that Air is still seeing doctors consistently and doing tests to figure out whats wrong with him. He had another MRI on his brain a few weeks ago, we're waiting for the results. He just did a 'barium swallow' and are still waiting for results. This week we finally booked a surgery for his colon on April 10th. We are hopeful that this will help him a lot and be worth the pain and recovery time that we know is coming from this. Thank you all for your prayers and support. You are awesome!

Happy Birthday Air!

.third month

One thing is for sure, Alice is a HAPPY baby. She smiles and coos at every opportunity and we absolutely love engaging her in conversations and smiling wars. She is just happy to be here, ya know? We love admiring everything about her. She has one little freckle on her right leg, an adorable cleft in her chin, and rolls upon rolls of beautiful soft supple skin that I can just kiss and kiss all day. I am so glad she hasn't been too sick anymore lately, but her poor eye is still everlastingly droopy.

Taking these monthly photos has been a breeze so far. But, yet again, there were way too many good ones to pick from this month. I’m posting the rest now.

 

For some reason I looked at that last picture and saw my brother Tyler?? I’m not sure if she looks a little bit like him or if maybe Tyler looks a little bit like a big adorable baby. haha

↓↓↓We scored a free turkey at Superstore and Air roasted that baby up on American Thanksgiving. Yum… he’s amazing//Ames loves meat haha↓↓↓

 

↓↓↓Ames and I had fun sledding and building a snowman one day.

 

I managed to build the tallest snowman ever and Ames pointed out that his name was Olaf an he liked warm hugs… which quickly led to warm kisses, as it goes↓↓↓

 

↓↓↓A few days before Christmas we went with the whole family to see the lights on candy cane lane. It was so much fun. I really like this little tradition we’ve got going.

  

↓↓↓Air’s Aunt Tracey seriously spoiled our babies this Christmas and even gave Ames a bat mobile! He loves this little car and drives it around the house daily//I finished the Book of Mormon at the end of the year and started fresh this year! I am loving this reading schedule over 365 days on instagram↓↓↓

 

↓↓↓Air and I have been playing Scrabble together some nights. He kills me every time, but I still enjoy it↓↓↓

 

↓↓↓Ames is still twisting his hair around every night and getting it tangled into the most incredible knots you’ve ever seen. This one even has a little toy dog in the mix//A new pool opened up by our house and I was so excited to take Ames swimming with Tessa last weekend. We need to do more fun stuff like this these days.

 

↓↓↓Air caught me putting on the wrong coat as I was leaving the house last week. Where did my brain go??//I am seriously depressed over the loss of our Target Canada stores. They just opened in Canada two years ago and they are already going out of business. This is ruining my life! Where am I supposed to shop!??↓↓↓

 

↓↓↓I was reluctant to put little Alice in the bumbo, thinking she’s still too small—nope! Our chubby lovey fits just fine. This girl is growing much too much, much too fast↓↓↓
