20120907 Ames One Month (117) edit3

Ames has lived the first month of his life! Hooray!

I gotta tell ya, though, he is growing and changing so much all the time its insane. I’m really determined to properly soak in every minute and stage of his existence.

It may or may not be working… I’m not sure I can keep up with him.

20120906 Ames' room (34) edit

I can’t believe I haven’t gotten around to blogging about Ames’ room yet! Right now it's my favorite room in our house, and the only room that’s actually completed so far...

My favorite thing in the room? The dresser/changing table. I found it in a thrift store. Namely, the Habitat for Humanity Restore for $8! I had to choose between these two awesome retro dressers:

And yeah, it was hard, but I picked the cheaper one. Here’s my progress:

20120902 Ames' First Day at church (7) edit

Ames spent his first Sunday at church.

He did pretty well aside from thinking he was starving to death by the time we got him home! haha

Also, I suppose he'll get to spend most weeks in Young Men's with his daddy for now since primary with me is pretty much a mad house!

**In other news: Our kitchen remodel is starting to come together these days and I can't wait to share it all with you!

.Grandma and Grandpa in Canada

20120811 home (22) edit

My parents came and spent a week with us right after Ames was born. It was so wonderful to have them here! We haven’t had the pleasure since our wedding reception 4 years ago.

This is only their 26th grandchild, but its the very first time they’ve EVER spent a whole week with one as a newborn! We’re so lucky we got to have them! It was so much fun!

20120816 Mom in kitchen (2) edit

My Mother is wonderful… She happily did the dishes and laundry every day, changed diapers, made lunches, and held Ames as much as she could!

My Dad mowed our neglected forest lawn and helped out with all kinds of renovating work.

My parents would never complain, but Air and I were kinda worried that they would go the whole week just working and helping us out at home—so we made sure to give them a fun tour of our city!

Um. We love Edmonton!

We made sure they tried a poutine and Tim Horton’s donuts. A true Canadian vacation.

And we got to visit the Gusa’s for dinner too! I’m pretty sure this cherry dessert my Mother-in-law made was the best. thing. ever.

Doesn’t this make it look easy? Too easy?

Well it wasn’t easy. But it was so so so SO WORTH IT!

We are in love with this boy…

Now stop distracting me, blog, I’ve gotta go stare at Ames! (and try to absorb some of his sweetness)
